Don’t Forget…
Dress, flowers, DJ, photographer, videographer, caterer, desserts, snacks, tuxes…what are we forgetting? It’s easy to get lost in all the fluff of a wedding and forget some of the important details. Don’t get us wrong we love EVERYTHING that goes into a wedding, but there are a few key things that often get forgotten!
You’re at the church, just announced as husband and wife, now what?! While you are celebrating there are still things to be done. Do you need anything brought from the ceremony to the reception? Who has the comfy shoes? Are the doors at the reception unlocked? Things like this are easily overlooked.
Assigning responsibilities is a great way to take the stress off you and allow those that want to help an opportunity to be a part of your big day! Do you have to take down any decor prior to your dance? Or maybe even take down tables? If so, try to have multiple people know where they should go and how to properly store the items. Remember, many hands make light work.
Here’s a short list of tasks we often see go overlooked:
Take down of tables and chairs
Clearing of tables of decor
Dessert table-we can’t run out of the cake!
Should the flowers go to the reception or stay with the bridal party?
Does the bridal party have drinks for after the reception? If so, who has the cooler?
Lighting of candles, or turning on of candles
Are the happy hour snacks/drinks ready to go?
Does anything need to go from the ceremony to the reception?
Is anyone clearing the gift table/cards? Where should these be taken?
Guest Book- Is there something to write with? Does it work?
Last but not least are things set up the way you want them? Many times the ceremony area cannot be set up until the morning of. It's important to make sure those helping get the area ready know your vision! Are the chairs set correctly? Once the decor is placed is there enough room for an aisle? You don’t want to be walking over lanterns or flowers! Are flowers supposed to be in certain spots? It’s the little things…but that’s why we are here. The little things are our favorite!
