Happy Birthday to The Wedding Nest!

Well.. kind of. In May, we will be celebrating 3 years of The Wedding Nest under my (Morgan) ownership. THREE YEARS! Can you believe it?

What better time to re-introduce myself and tell you more about how the business has grown and evolved. First off, I’m Morgan Ewing. In May of 2021, an official change of ownership happened and I brought The Wedding Nest from its loving home in Charles City to Northeast Iowa, now Harpers Ferry. While planning my own wedding, the business venture sort of just worked when I realized my own love of planning and decorating.

Now, three years later, I’m happily married to my partner in crime and fellow wedding decorator - Cole. Actually, he doesn’t exactly LOVE when I get him roped into all my crazy ideas, but between him and my dad, they’re true life savers in the draping department.
Last year, we welcomed our baby girl, Maven Justine on March 30. She’s been an absolute blessing and is now my sidekick for several decoration adventures. This little lady has been to enough weddings and parties, we knew we had to do it big for her birthday this year.

To wrap things up, trying to keep things short, I wanted to share a few of my favorite parts of owning The Wedding Nest.

I’ve met the BEST “clients” that have become friends and am blessed to be able to help them with their events.
I truly love the creativity that this business brings out of me - from being able to plan my own events to answering questions from you all.
The constant growth and change to make sure the business is fitting the needs of clients and still staying relevant is so challenging in the best way.

If you had asked me five years ago, I would have told you a wedding business would be a dream, but so far out of my reach. If you would have asked me three years ago where I thought The Wedding Nest would be now, I would never have imagined it growing so much more into coordination and, myself, loving it so much.

Now today, where do I see this business going? The opportunities are endless. I want to continue serving clients in weddings - helping find the perfect vendors, making sure the littlest of details don’t fall through the cracks and of course, providing the best decor options. However, I also want to be a known name for themed parties, balloon arches and a friend that can connect you to all of the other incredible vendors in this community and region.
